It is 6:40am as I write this, and the sun hasn’t risen yet. I guess that means Summer is coming to an end! Those of us in the Greater Edmonton Area have dealt with so much rain this year that it doesn’t quite feel like Summer has started yet!! Houses that have existed for many years got flooded this year from the rain –the great amount, as well as the voracity with which it came down! But the cleanup is started, and the recovery is underway.
I hope we have a long Fall, giving us the opportunity to drive our cars for a while longer than usual! Our regular meetings will start again on September 29, with our AGM at the November meeting! Please consider running for a position.
Our annual A&W Early Bird Show & Shine was well attended this year, details in the newsletter. I just want to thank everyone that helped us throughout the day with setup, parking, selling of tickets and take down. Without your support this event would not happen.
Finally, it is with a heavy heart that I must report the loss of one of our long-time members. Marlene Villumsen passed away. We extend our sympathies to Gord and the whole family. Marlene will be dearly missed. A celebration of life will be held in September, more information later.
